Softball Recap: New Lexington's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for New Lexington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Warren Warriors on Saturday as they made off with a 9-2 win. Considering the Panthers have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Caroline Dupler was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jorja Burkhart, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

New Lexington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren only posted a batting average of .160.

The victory snapped New Lexington's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Warren, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: New Lexington beat the Warriors by a score of 7-4 later that day.
