Recap: Western Hills Cougars vs. Lake Worth Bullfrogs
The Western Hills Cougars lost against the Lake Worth Bullfrogs back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Western Hills was outmatched by Lake Worth at home and fell 49-21. Western Hills has struggled against Lake Worth recently, as their game on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Western Hills lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kyu Wilson. Despite the final result, he threw for 114 yards and three touchdowns.
Damion Hopkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lake Worth, rushing for 111 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, while also picking up 51 receiving yards. Hopkins was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Cornell Avington was another key contributor, gaining 127 total yards and a touchdown.
Western Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lake Worth, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Western Hills will head out on the road to face off against Kennedale at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Kennedale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Western Hills likes a good challenge. As for Lake Worth, they will be playing at home against Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Dunbar is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
