Volleyball Recap: Kingwood Comes Up Short at Home Against Cy-Fair

Kingwood unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Cy-Fair Bobcats on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered against the Bobcats since August 9, 2022.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cy-Fair scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-19.

Emma Nelson paced Kingwood's offense, picking up nine kills. Nelson got some help from Carly Thomas and her 19 assists.

Kingwood has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Hendrickson on the 14th. As for Cy-Fair, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Dawson on the 14th.
