Softball Recap: Newton Falls Takes a Loss

If Newton Falls was riding high fresh off their 16-8 takedown of Chaney last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers came up short against the Southeast Pirates on Wednesday, falling 16-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 8-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Newton Falls saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalyn Knight, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Newton Falls now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Southeast, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Newton Falls and Southeast will both be playing Harding the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Pirates will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
