Volleyball Recap: Monte Vista Pirates vs. Meeker Cowboys
Monte Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Meeker Cowboys.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15.
Aiyana Chavez paced Monte Vista's offense, picking up seven kills. Chavez got some help from
Abbi Ortega and her 11 assists.
Monte Vista's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Meeker, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Middle Park the next time they take the court. Meeker will head out to face Middle Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Monte Vista will host them at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
