The Whitko Wildcats will challenge the Argos Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitko is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Whitko's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on West Noble with a sharp 15-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Addie Garr made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Those 17 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Whitko let Taylor Long and Kaylee Adkins run wild. Long scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances, while Adkins went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave Adkins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Long, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Whitko always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Argos was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pioneer.
Argos dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Whitko, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Argos' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Whitko hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Argos, though, as they've only averaged .231. Will they be able to contain Whitko's hitters?
Whitko took their victory against Argos in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 15-5 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
