Preview: Palmer Terrors vs. Coronado Cougars

Palmer is 8-2 against Coronado since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Palmer Terrors will head out on the road to face off against the Coronado Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Palmer knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Coronado likes a good challenge.

Even though Widefield scored an imposing 57 points on Saturday, Palmer still came out on top. Palmer took down Widefield 74-57. Given Palmer's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Widefield is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palmer to victory, but perhaps none more so than J'twane Mike, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Weber, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, 13 rebounds, and ten assists.

Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Coronado, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-43 loss to Widefield on Friday.

Palmer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

Everything came up roses for Palmer against Coronado in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 69-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
