Football Recap: Crowley County Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Crowley County had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 28-22 to the Merino Rams on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Crowley County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Levi Gibson rushed for 89 yards and two TDs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crowley County will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Calhan at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Merino, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against McClave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
