Recap: Father Capodanno Grunts vs. St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors
The Father Capodanno Grunts suffered their biggest loss since November 18, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by St. Thomas More Academy 52-25. It was the first time this season that Father Capodanno let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Father Capodanno still got an impressive performance from Julie Attar, who scored 15 points.
St. Thomas More Academy was led to victory by Adella Dehring and Enora Boutrand. Dehring scored 21 points along with three steals, while Boutrand dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dehring has scored all season. Libby Fix was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
Father Capodanno's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for St. Thomas More Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Father Capodanno will take on North Moore at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. North Moore is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for St. Thomas More Academy, St. Thomas More Academy and Neuse Christian Academy will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Morgan Little and Dehring.
