Softball Recap: Leake County Comes Up Short

Leake County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Taylorsville Tartars, falling 28-6. The Gators were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tartars from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Leake County's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Taylorsville, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leake County will take on Scott Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.59 runs per game on average), something the Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Taylorsville, they will challenge Sebastopol at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
