Baseball Game Preview: Chippewa Valley Big Reds vs. Dakota Cougars

For the second straight game, Chippewa Valley will face off against Dakota. The Big Reds will face off against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Chippewa Valley fell victim to Dakota and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Big Reds have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Aiden Porretta was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April.

Dakota has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Chippewa Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9-1.
