Softball Recap: Ridgeview Comes Up Short

Ridgeview extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 5-9. They lost 18-5 to the Bakersfield Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 26-7 on Wednesday.

Sofia Ramirez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Bakersfield Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-14-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games.

On Bakersfield Christian's side, Maddison Misuraca was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Misuraca was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Tia Nichols was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Miley Franco was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Ridgeview is taking a road trip to square off against Independence at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bakersfield Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Scots have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
