West Columbus's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 55-54 victory over the East Columbus Gators. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Gators two weeks ago, they had to take a 46-43 defeat.

Leading West Columbus to victory were Emanuez Jones and Larry 'DJ' Graham. Jones posted 18 points, while Graham went 7-for-17 to rack up 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. What's more, Jones also posted four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zion Eady, who earned five points and nine boards.

Despite the loss, East Columbus still got an impressive performance from Jaden Troy, who had 19 points and eight rebounds. Troy is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrion Jenrette, who scored 11 points.

West Columbus' record is now 5-17. As for East Columbus, they dropped their record down to 9-14 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Columbus will square off against Whiteville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Whiteville will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something West Columbus surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Columbus, they will take on Pender at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
