Basketball Game Preview: Randolph Cardinals vs. Winside Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Randolph Cardinals face off against the Winside Wildcats at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday... The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Randolph has three straight wins, Winside has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Randolph earned a 47-37 victory over Walthill.

Meanwhile, Winside took a blow against Madison on Tuesday, falling 68-32. The Wildcats were down 51-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Randolph will have to contain Caleb Offner as he made an impact in Winside's last game. He dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Offner has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Aschoff, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Randolph is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Winside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Randolph came up short against Winside when the teams last played back in February of 2022, falling 38-28. Can Randolph avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
