Softball Recap: Gila Bend Beats Sequoia Charter for Their Third Straight Win

Gila Bend entered their tilt with Sequoia Charter on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 11-10 W against the Stallions. This was a revenge game for the Gila Monsters: when they faced off against the Stallions back in February, they had to take a 6-5 defeat.

Jaclyne Gutierrez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Paityn Sly also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Gila Bend always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .615 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Gila Bend's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3. As for Sequoia Charter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coincidentally, Gila Bend and Sequoia Charter will both be playing Berean Academy the next time they take the field. The Gila Monsters will head out to face the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Stallions will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
