Calvary Day School's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Sunday's struggle, when Wyoming Valley West hitters got past them. Calvary Day School fell just short of Wyoming Valley West by a score of 12-11 on Sunday. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Tyler Grande was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Austin Setliff was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Surry Central came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Golden Eagles have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Jackson Wilmoth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Will Pardue was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Eric Branch, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Having lost for the first time this season, Calvary Day School fell to 3-1. As for Surry Central, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Calvary Day School has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Surry Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
