Basketball Recap: Motivation Jaguars vs. Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech Panthers
The Motivation Jaguars were the 58-32 winner over the Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech Panthers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Motivation's rough 73-49 loss to the Panthers on Thursday might stick with them for a while. Motivation has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Motivation had strong showings from Chace White, who scored 16 points, and Haleem Butler, who scored 16 points. Khyair Goodwin was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Francisco Quiles, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Quiles has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mikhael Batties, who scored 16 points.
Motivation has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Motivation does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech will head out on the road to take on the at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. High School of the Future is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
