Preview: Byrd vs. Richlands
Byrd will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Richlands at 7:00 PM. Richlands will need to watch out since Byrd have now posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Byrd won against Bassett two weeks ago with 41 points, and Byrd decided to stick to that point total again last week. Byrd were fully in charge, breezing past Martinsville 41-6. Followers of Byrd probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
Meanwhile, Richlands have to be aching after a bruising 17-49 defeat to Blacksburg. Richlands were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 3-35.
Byrd's win lifted them to 4-0 while Richlands's loss dropped them down to 1-2. We'll find out if Byrd can add another positive mark to their record or if Richlands can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Byrd's step.
