Basketball Recap: Worth County Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Cairo came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Worth County, but ASHTON WILLIAMS wouldn't allow it. The Worth County Rams blew past the Cairo Syrupmakers 86-61 on Saturday thanks in part to WILLIAMS, who went 14 of 22 on his way to 37 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Worth County's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of NIKENDRICK BROWN, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Several Syrupmakers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jy'Kortnee Brown, who posted 26 points. Another player making a difference was Davion Tarver, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Worth County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Cairo, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Worth County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 86-40 win against Jeff Davis on the 7th. As for Cairo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-67 defeat against Bainbridge on the 3rd.
