After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Coronado, Burges was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 53-12 victory over the Fabens Wildcats. With the Mustangs ahead 34-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burges to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Dexter-Quinn, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Another passer making a difference was Marcus Sanchez, who threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Burges' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Nikko Hernandez was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sackshimself.
