Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Sarasota Christian's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Sarasota Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Morningside Academy on Friday. The Sarasota Christian Blazers enjoyed a cozy 48-32 victory over the Morningside Academy Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blazers.

It was another big night for Ben Milliken, who posted 24 points and six rebounds. The matchup was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. Justin Brock was another key player, putting up six points along with five assists and three steals.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was AJ Chang, who scored eight points and five boards. Chang has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 17 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Stephen Moss, who earned seven points and six rebounds.

Sarasota Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Morningside Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Sarasota Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-32 defeat against Cornerstone Charter Academy on the 18th. As for Morningside Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 38-30 win against Cambridge Christian on the 18th.
