Basketball Recap: Currituck County Falls Despite Big Games from Tristan Peterson and Jamie Dance

Currituck County lost against First Flight two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Currituck County Knights fell just short of the First Flight Nighthawks by a score of 81-79. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Currituck County had strong showings from Jamie Dance, who went 13-for-22 on his way to 31 points and eight boards, and Tristan Peterson, who went 7-for-15 en route to 22 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. The game was Dance's tenth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Ian Brown, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Currituck County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 22 consecutive contests.

Mason Dobie continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for First Flight, putting up 38 points. Dobie has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 19 times he's played. Brody Woods was another key player, scoring 14 points.

Currituck County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for First Flight, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
