Volleyball Recap: Newton South's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

If Natick wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Newton South, they should've done a better job of containing Natalie Huang. The Lions came out on top against the Redhawks by a score of 3-1 on Friday with plenty of help from Huang, who had 20 digs and four aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 13.5 digs per game.

Newton South walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 20-25, 25-17, 25-12.

Natick lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ruby Jasper, who had 16 assists and four digs. Another player making a difference was Lillian Chung, who had ten assists and seven digs.

The win (which was Newton South's third in a row) raised their record to 10-6. As for Natick, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Newton South has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Westford Academy on the 23rd. As for Natick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Wellesley on the 22nd.
