Volleyball Game Preview: West Carroll Thunder vs. Stockton Blackhawks

The West Carroll Thunder will take on the Stockton Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Carroll has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Stockton will come in with five straight wins.

On Thursday, West Carroll didn't have quite enough to beat East Dubuque and fell 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, West Carroll sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-15, 17-25, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Stockton was able to grind out a solid victory over River Ridge on Wednesday, taking the game 2-0.

Stockton easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16.

Stockton's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for West Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: West Carroll has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Stockton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
