Baseball Recap: Pima Comes Up Short

Pima was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Phoenix Christian Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Roughriders of the 7-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Pima's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for Phoenix Christian, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1.

Coming up, Pima will square off against Morenci at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Phoenix Christian, they will face off against Tombstone at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
