Volleyball Recap: Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders vs. Colorado Springs Christian Lions
Thomas MacLaren School extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 8-8 in the process. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colorado Springs Christian Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Monday.
When it comes to explaining why Thomas MacLaren School lost, don't look at Ivan Romo. Despite the final result, he had 15 digs and three assists.
As for Colorado Springs Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Winning may never get old, but they sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Colorado Springs Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Kruse out in front who had 39 assists and 11 digs. Kruse is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 15 or more in each of the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Hacker, who had 16 digs and two assists.
Looking ahead, Thomas MacLaren School will venture away from home to face off against James Irwin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they will head out to challenge Boulder at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
