Football Game Preview: Paloma Valley Wildcats vs. Rancho Verde Mustangs + Official Tickets

Paloma Valley hasn't had much luck against Rancho Verde recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will take on the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Rancho Verde took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Paloma Valley, who comes in off a win.

Paloma Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 48-28 margin over JW North on Friday.

Isaac Navarro was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 282 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 36 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024.

Meanwhile, while it was Rancho Verde who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Vista del Lago who put up more. The Mustangs took a 35-20 bruising from the Ravens. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Ravens 7-0 in the first quarter.

Paloma Valley will need to focus on slowing down C. J. Thompson, one of several Rancho Verde players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 198 yards and three TDs. Jimmy Cruz handled things on the ground, rushing for 85 yards.

Paloma Valley picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Rancho Verde, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-5.

Paloma Valley might still be hurting after the 34-12 loss they got from Rancho Verde in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
