Basketball Game Preview: Floyd County Buffaloes vs. Alleghany Cougars

The Floyd County Buffaloes will head out to face off against the Alleghany Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Floyd County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Alleghany likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Floyd County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-55 to Radford.

Meanwhile, Alleghany was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 62-58 to Glenvar. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Highlanders 28-23 in the first quarter.

Floyd County dropped their record down to 15-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Alleghany, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Everything went Floyd County's way against Alleghany in their previous matchup back in January, as Floyd County made off with a 60-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Floyd County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
