Basketball Game Preview: Long Creek Dragons vs. Fredericksburg Billies

The Long Creek Dragons will venture away from home to face off against the Fredericksburg Billies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Long Creek has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Fredericksburg will arrive with four straight victories.

Long Creek saw some tournament action on Friday. They lost 61-38 to Burleson. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1466th, while the Elks are ranked 474th).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Fredericksburg beat Ingram Moore 58-52 on Monday.

Fredericksburg is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Long Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Long Creek came up short against Fredericksburg in their previous matchup back in November, falling 58-48. Can Long Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
