Preview: Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family vs. Westmont Sentinels
Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family will play host again and welcome the Westmont Sentinels, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Universal 64-15 at home. The team ran away with 52 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elizabeth Beto led the charge by dropping a triple-double on 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists. Beto hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alice Hansen, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Westmont entered their tilt with the Mustangs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Westmont came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs on Tuesday and snuck past 49-47. 49 seems to be a good number for Westmont as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-10. As for Westmont, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.
Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family strolled past the Sentinels in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 47-32. Will Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family repeat their success, or do the Sentinels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
