Baseball Game Preview: Family Community Christian vs. Bastrop Rams

Family Community Christian are taking a road trip to square off against the Bastrop Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Family Community Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Bastrop's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Family Community Christian's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Sterlington hitters got past them. Family Community Christian lost 13-2 to Sterlington on Thursday.

Family Community Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Mcmurray, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bastrop). They were the clear victor by a 22-0 margin over Rayville on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Bastrop's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Family Community Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.

Everything went Family Community Christian's way against Bastrop when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Family Community Christian made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Family Community Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
