Baseball Game Preview: Tradition Prep Pirates vs. Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles

The Tradition Prep Pirates will head out to face off against the Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tradition Prep will be strutting in after a win while Calvary Chapel Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Tradition Prep will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Port St. Lucie, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Tradition Prep came out on top against Port St. Lucie by a score of 10-5 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pirates considering their one-run performance the match before.

Pablo Almonte and Aliet Garcia were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Almonte kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Garcia pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Almonte a new career-low in hits (zero). At bat, Almonte scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Garcia went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those two runs gave Almonte a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sebastian Garcia was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Daniel Almonte, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Tradition Prep hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port St. Lucie struck out 16 times.

Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel Academy fell victim to Master's Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 15-0 to the Patriots. The Eagles have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Tradition Prep's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything went Tradition Prep's way against Calvary Chapel Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Tradition Prep made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tradition Prep since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
