Basketball Recap: Newman International Academy Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Newman International Academy Warriors came up short against the Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders and fell 52-40.

When it comes to explaining why Newman International Academy lost, don't look at Arianna Miranda. Despite the final result, she went 7 for 12 on her way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Pillow, who went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points.

Newman International Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Azle Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Newman International Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Azle Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-30 loss against Stephenville FAITH on the 24th.
