Basketball Game Preview: Forestburg Longhorns vs. Huckabay Indians

The Forestburg Longhorns will challenge the Huckabay Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Forestburg comes in on four and Huckabay on 15.

Forestburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They breezed past Avery to the tune of 73-36. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Forestburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jesus Sanchez, who posted 24 points. Sanchez's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Jesse Wadsworth was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Huckabay ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Slocum with a 44-40 victory.

Forestburg's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points over those games. As for Huckabay, their victory bumped their record up to 23-11.

Forestburg was dealt a bruising 70-27 loss at the hands of Huckabay in their previous meeting back in November of 2019. Can Forestburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
