Wesley Chapel suffered a grim 14-43 defeat to Wiregrass Ranch last Friday. Wesley Chapel got a solid performance out of junior Jelani Vassell, who rushed for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Meanwhile, Pasco simply couldn't be stopped, as they easily beat Gulf 54-8. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Pasco had established a 42-8 advantage.
Pasco's victory lifted them to 2-0 while Wesley Chapel's defeat dropped them down to 0-2. In their victory, Pasco relied heavily on junior Desmin Green, who threw 3 TDs and picked up 45 yards on the ground; a key strategy for Wesley Chapel will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
