Granite Bay extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-14 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Davis Sr. Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 two weeks ago.

Granite Bay got a good showing from Cade Taylor, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Andrew Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Davis Sr., they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

On Davis Sr.'s side, Dylan Beamish looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Beamish a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Davis Sr.'s win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alex Kieffer, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Kieffer has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, Davis Sr. is set to take on their familiar foe Rocklin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Devils 3.4, the Thunder 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
