Volleyball Recap: Central Crossing Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Central Crossing lost against Newark back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Comets lost 3-0 to the Wildcats. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Central Crossing was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Newark's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-20.

Joclyn Marable paced Central Crossing's offense, picking up six kills. Marable got some help from Alexis Rose-Payne and her 16 assists. Rose-Payne was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Brooke Spangler was the offensive standout of the contest as she had seven digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Central Crossing's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Newark, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Central Crossing does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newark, they will take on Dublin Jerome at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
