Softball Recap: Ramona Convent Tigers vs. South Gate Rams

If Ramona Convent was riding high fresh off their 28-2 takedown of Westridge last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell just short of the South Gate Rams by a score of 8-7 on Wednesday. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in March of 2015.

Abigail Vazquez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariana Figueroa, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Ramona Convent's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for South Gate, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-16.

Looking ahead, Ramona Convent will head out to challenge Bishop Conaty-Loretto at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.23 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Gate, they will welcome Huntington Park at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
