Baseball Recap: Marion County Mustangs vs. Mark Twain Tigers

Marion County had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Mark Twain Tigers 8-7. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Paden Olson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Olson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Nathan Wright was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Marion County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mark Twain only managed six hits.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion County will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Knox County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mark Twain, they will welcome Missouri Military Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
