Volleyball Recap: Valley Starts Season with Victory Against Castleford

Valley took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Castleford Wolves. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2023.

Valley not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Castleford between 17 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17.

Castleford is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley will welcome Dietrich at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Castleford and Lighthouse Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
