Softball Game Preview: Clarence Red Devils vs. Lancaster Legends

The Clarence Red Devils will square off against the Lancaster Legends at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Clarence fell victim to Orchard Park and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Quakers, falling 14-0. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Quakers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Lancaster and Frontier, and Frontier kept the tradition alive. The Legends fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Legends have suffered since May 10, 2024.

Peytyn Chojnacki and Isabella Dimino stepped up to the plate in a big way. Chojnacki went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI, while Dimino went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that Dimino has scored this season.

Lancaster's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Clarence, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Clarence skirted past Lancaster 5-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Legends turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
