Football Game Preview: Lakeside Vikings vs. Chamblee Bulldogs

Lakeside hasn't had much luck against Chamblee recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vikings will host the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Lakeside will be strutting in after a win while Chamblee will be coming in after a loss.

Lakeside's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tri-Cities 41-0. That looming 41-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings yet this season.

Lakeside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Lanford, who threw for 302 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.1 yards per attempt. Those 302 passing yards gave Lanford a new career-high. Lakeside's leading receiver Canon Davis was Lanford's top target yet again, picking up 130 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.

Meanwhile, Chamblee lost a heartbreaker to Shiloh when they met back in September of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Bulldogs took a hard 40-22 fall against the Generals. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Generals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Chamblee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lakeside, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3.
