Softball Recap: Hamilton County Takes a Loss

Hamilton County was the 11-1 winner over Rickards when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hamilton County Trojans took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rickards Raiders on Friday.

Destini Cherry was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayln Johnson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hamilton County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Rickards, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton County will take on Fort White at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rickards, they will square off against Leon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
