Basketball Recap: Middlesboro Takes a Loss

Middlesboro was the 70-53 winner over Knox Central when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Middlesboro Yellowjackets were outmatched by the Knox Central Panthers and fell 86-57. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Panthers are ranked 75th).

Middlesboro has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Knox Central, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Middlesboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-23 loss against Harlan County on the 12th. As for Knox Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 68-48 win against Leslie County on the 13th.
