Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Archbishop Ryan). They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Franklin Towne Warriors on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders and Ragdolls considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Madison Velez was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. Velez was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Archbishop Ryan got a massive performance out of Madison Tracey, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Jenna Osinski was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Archbishop Ryan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin Towne only posted a batting average of .053.
