Basketball Game Preview: Flat Rock Rams vs. Huron Chiefs

The Flat Rock Rams will take on the Huron Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Flat Rock is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Bedford just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost to the Kicking Mules at home by a 42-25 margin. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Madleen Hussein was Flat Rock's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Layla Holbrook took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Meanwhile, Huron entered their tilt with Trenton on Monday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trojans 59-21. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Trojans are ranked 574th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Huron pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points over those games. As for Flat Rock, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

Flat Rock didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Huron in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 61-57 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Flat Rock since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
