Softball Recap: Eagan Takes a Loss

After flying high against Robbinsdale Armstrong on Wednesday, Eagan came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the Rosemount Irish by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Irish earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Sydney Holt made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Barry, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Eagan has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Rosemount, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Eagan will challenge Shakopee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rosemount, they will take on Hastings at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
