Jeff Davis pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cook. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jeff Davis in their matchups with Cook: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite their defeat, Jeff Davis saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Amari Jackson, who scored 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was A.J. Hunt, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Fitzgerald didn't have too much trouble with Worth County at home on Tuesday as they won 69-50.
Fitzgerald's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Victor Copeland, who scored 17 points. Daniel Harris was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Jeff Davis has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Fitzgerald, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.
Jeff Davis came up short against Fitzgerald in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 68-60. Can Jeff Davis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
