Kayden McCormick posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, striking out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Calhoun's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 7-13 when he doesn't).

Looking ahead, McCormick and Calhoun will head out to challenge Roane County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils have some work to do to even out the 1-8 series between these two since April of 2017, but a win here would be a good start.
