Softball Recap: Herndon Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Herndon finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to the Yorktown Patriots. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

Herndon's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Yorktown, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Herndon will face off against rival Washington-Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Yorktown is set to square off against their familiar foe Langley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 3.1, the Saxons 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
